Tuition for each step or year of the program (step 1, 2, or 3)

Upon Acceptance into the program, pay an Enrollment Fee and Tuition for Each Step

After receiving your acceptance notification from SCHYS, please fill out the Enrollment Form below and hit the Submit button. Next, your Enrollment Fee ($1080) is paid to get started and enrolled in the program. This fee is paid for each for step, each year and includes:

  • SCHYS Materials delivered to you upon paying $1080 Enrollment Fee:

    • Holistic Healing with Yoga Therapy book by JJ Gormley and Laura Vanderberg (Step 1)

    • Study Guide & Workbook (one for each Step)

    • Asana Reference Manual (Step 1)

    • Asana Reference Index Cards (Step 1)

    • Pranayama Reference Manual (Step 2)

    • Access to handouts/materials for virtual (SDL) classes (each step)

    • Access to online recorded classes with associated handouts

    • Access to other materials online (quizzes, final exam, other schedules, school policy manual, etc.).

    • Canvas bag with SCHYS logo—these are given at the first IPPM.

  • Tuition payment options can be found below. Your Tuition payment is paid prior to the start of the program and each month thereafter until all payments have been made. The tuition payment is made for each step, each year and includes:

    • All scheduled training hours:

      • All scheduled weekend In-Person Practicum Modules (IPPMs) (six modules per year)

      • All scheduled Synchronous Distance Learning Hours (varies per step from 25 to 37 hours)

      • All schedule program hours during the Residential Training at the Retreat (scheduled in Step 2 or Step 3)—required for all students

      • Online Classes (pre-recorded) (varies per step from 52 to 68 hours)

      • Case Studies Classes—students are auto-enrolled for the entire time they are in Step 1, 2 or 3 (8-10 hours each quarter)

      • Yoga Therapy Clinic Classes—students are auto-enrolled for the entire time they are in Step 1, 2 or 3 (8-10 hours each quarter)

      • Students will be enrolled in some of JJ’s Yoga Mat Classes—these can be used as make-up hours if attended live. (18 hours per year)

Your tuition does not cover:

  • Other learning supplies, books (from reading list) except as listed above as included), note paper, etc.: estimated cost $250-$300

  • Travel or lodging costs to attend any portions of the training program.

  • Meals during IPPMs or other training events.

  • Mentorship hours—book and pay faculty/mentor directly. Expect to pay $50-$120/hour depending on faculty. Admin hours may be less than private yoga therapy session. Four private yoga therapy sessions required and sixteen Admin sessions required per step. At least two of these per step are required with JJ Gormley.

  • Expenses related to Make-up of hours missed.

  • Graduation/certification fee: Steps 1 and 3 are Certificate Programs* and $150 is due before taking the final exam. There is no certificate issued after completion of Step 2.

*Certificate Programs are: 300-Hr Advanced Yoga Training (also Step 1 of the yoga therapy certificate program), Yoga Therapy Certificate Program (eligible for certificate after all three steps (1, 2, & 3) are completed, and Specialty Certificate Programs.

SCHYS has a limited number of scholarship opportunities. Students may request a scholarship by writing to JJ Gormley.

Please follow the application process here. Then, once accepted to the program, may select your tuition payment option (see below) and pay your Initial Deposit. Upon receipt of this $1080, you will be given access to materials (Study Guide, Reference Manual, and Holistic Healing with Yoga Therapy book, handouts, and online classes—valued at well over $1000).

Tuition Payment Options per Step (per year of the program)

Your tuition includes all weekend program modules, virtual classes with JJ Gormley, handouts, recorded online classes, and other training manuals and materials.

There is a $1,080 Non-Refundable Deposit to accompany the Enrollment Agreement which is issued upon acceptance to program. The Enrollment Fee of $1080 should be paid one-month prior to the start-date of the program. The start date of a program is the first event (either an IPPM or an SDL).

  • Option A (Early Bird Discount): Early bird discount if paid in full no later than two months before the program’s first event (either IPPM or SDL): pay the $1080 Deposit above, plus $3592.  Total payment is $4672.

  • Option B (Regular): Deposit of $1080 paid at least one month prior to the start (see above), plus three (3) payments of $1267 each – paid within the first 3 months of the program start date. When counting months of the training, count months even when there is no scheduled program module or meeting. ($1080 Deposit + $3801 = $4881)

  •  Option C: Deposit of $1080 paid at least one month prior to the start (see above), plus five (5) payments of $775 each – paid within the first 5 months of the program start date. ($1080 Deposit + $3875 = $4955)

  •  Option D: Deposit of $1080 paid at least one month prior to the start (see above), Eight (8) payments of $500 each – paid within the first 8 months of the program start date. ($1080 Deposit + $4000 = $5080)

  •  Option E: Deposit of $1080 paid at least one month prior to the start (see above), plus ten (10) payments of $415 each – paid within the first 10 months of the program start date. ($1080 Deposit + $4150 = $5230)

Graduates of Step 1 (300-hour program) may apply to the Yoga Alliance for their 500-hour RYT if they do not already have.

Graduates of the entire Program (Steps 1, 2 and 3) may apply to the International Association for Yoga Therapists (IAYT) for recognition of completion of an accredited yoga therapy program and become a C-IAYT. The IAYT will have procedures and fees that are not included in your SCHYS tuition.

Enrollment & Tuition Payment Agreement for Steps 1, 2, or 3

Upon acceptance to the program, please fill out the form below and press the “Submit” button. You may begin to make your payments for the Initial Deposit ($1080), and your tuition payment) by selecting options above and adding to the cart. Use the back-button to add a tuition payment to the Initial Deposit payment, then go to the cart to finalize payments. As soon as your $1080 Initial Deposit is received, JJ will enroll you in the program on Thinkific (a learning management system). Feel free to contact JJ for help learning to navigate Thinkific.



Upon submission of the above form, you will be sent our official admittance documentation, the manuals and workbooks associated with the Step you enrolled, and be sent an email from schys-thinkific announcing your enrollment in the program. Upon receipt of the email from thinkific, please set up your password (your email is your username), and begin familiarizing yourself with Thinkific. Should you need any help, reach out to JJ for a quick session to learn how to navigate around Thinkific. Begin completing the pre-recorded online classes in the order shown on Thinkific.
