Spring 2020-Case Studies-15 with JJ Gormley

Pre-Requisite: Completion of Foundations of Yoga (Bridge) Program will give greater understanding of the class content. This is required for students enrolled in Step 2 or 3 of SCHYS Yoga Therapy Training Program.

Each week, experience how a Yoga Therapist perceives a case, views the client’s issues through the models of Yoga Therapy, applies upayam (tools), determines contraindicated upayam, and short- and long-term goals. Students enrolled in SCHYS Steps 2 or 3 will be presenting cases of clients they are currently working with while JJ and participants will give feedback as we learn to understand the client through the many models of the yoga therapist (chakras, doshas, pancha mayas, etc.) and give opinions on possible samanam (short-term) and sodhanam (long-term) goals for the yoga therapist in training to consider. Graduates and Faculty of SCHYS Yoga Therapy Certificate Program may also present their cases for others to learn from or to gain more opinions from faculty and peers on options for proceeding.

Class meets 8 weeks: Wednesdays 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time
