This course provides 24 Approved Professional Development credit hours for the IAYT toward renewal of your C-IAYT.
This course is 16 hours of prerecorded videos with a quiz at the end, plus eight hours of attendance live in an online Case Studies class which meets Wednesdays, 1:00 - 2:00 pm Eastern Time. During the Case Studies class, you will present two cases of clients that you worked with where you used yoga therapy for the Vagus Nerve.
The pre-recorded online classes include discussion in stress, the autonomic nervous system, the pathogenesis of issues that involve the vagus nerve including ailments such as PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, difficulty swallowing, digestive issues, and more.
JJ Gormley, MS, CIAYT, ERYT500, and other faculty will guide students in the following: the anatomy & physiology of the vagus nerve and other cranial nerves, current research on the vagus nerve, and healing suggestions for clients with suspected vagus nerve issues.
Requirements
Vagus Nerve Online Classes 1 - Eight one-hour classes (prerecorded).
Vagus Nerve Online Classes 2 - Eight one-hour classes (prerecorded).
Case Studies Online Class - Eight-week session where you present two case studies of client’s you’ve worked with who have an issue that you believe effected their vagus nerve. Case study presentations are made on the case studies online class—see Current Online Classes. Generally, this class meets Wednesdays, 1-2pm. Upon enrollment in this course, you will be autoenrolled in the next available Case Studies course where there are two weeks free for you to present your cases.

This course is an Approved Professional Development course with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). You will receive 24 CEUs toward your C-IAYT renewal.
