Are You a Wounded Healer?
What is a Wounded Healer?

Did you know that many yoga teachers and yoga therapists come to the profession because of their experience with ill-health? Whether it was their own experience or they were involved with a loved one who sought yoga for the intervention, the experience of ill-health can be a catalyst that ignites them to help others.
Psychologist Carl Jung was among the first to identify this phenomenon. He saw patterns in Psychologists who came to their profession after experiencing some trauma that compelled them to help others.
Jung called these people “Wounded Healers” and that label has carried on in the years since and has been applied to Wounded Healers in many of the “caring” professions.
Are you a wounded healer? What do you think are the benefits of becoming a yoga therapist as a wounded healer? Think there are any challenges?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the topic. Just hit reply and let me know what you think.
